If there was a name that underserved a place, then this would be it. I mean no offence to whatever history the name may have or the sentiments behind it but in the English language it rhymes with dumbo and that is not such a very good thing when it comes to peoples impressions.
Dubbo is in fact a very great place. For starters it's location in terms of climate is just awesome. Have a look at the weather sites and you will see what I mean. It was autumn but still warm enough for ordinary clothes.
People flock to Dubbo for the Western Plains zoo -- but there is simply much more to Dubbo than the zoo.
